Filippi

Philippi, one of the most important ones all over Greece.
The ancient theatre (4th century B.C.), the Roman Forum (2nd
century A.D.), the Via Egnatia, Apostle Paul’s “prison”, the
early Christian Basilica Churches and the Octagon are some of
the most significant finds there.
One km away lays the Baptistery of Lydia, right on the spot
where the Apostle christened the first European Christian,
Lydia, in the Zygaktis river. |
